You're probably noticed that this year's 30 Days of Biking has received an avalanche of pledges from Minsk, Belarus. That pledgin' plethora was a mystery to us, until Minneapolis cyclist Sveta Kovalchuk revealed she'd led the charge, introducing her friends from Minsk to the xXx. And all of them signed on!

"[30DOB] is a great idea," says Sveta. "Last year, I started to do this every day. I'd run and every day I rode my bike—it was a great month.

"For many years, in Belarus, I was the organizer of various cycling festivals, competitions and other events. When I left, the fate of the events in my country continued to excite me, so I'm trying to organize something online.

"I want my country to have more events that bring people together and that can help them find new friends. I love when my experience inspires someone. It gives me positive emotions. This action involved not only the guys from Minsk—but also from other cities. Some of them live (as I do) in other countries (Poland, other ). Belarus is a small country of only 10 million people. And I am very proud that for the week, we registered almost 100 people."
