Dear all,

I wish you all a great and happy new year with less sanitary restrictions and more cycling in many lovely countrysides !

Several informations to share with you today :

The ACP awards ceremony is planned for January 15. Due to the current sanitary restrictions in France and especially in Paris, we could have to cancel it. So, it’s highly recommended not to plan a trip to Paris to attend this ceremony.
Super Randonnées are no more managed by Audax Club Parisien. They are now managed by Provence Randonneurs, a club created by Sophie Matter. This was requested by Sophie and accepted by our club during our annual general assembly. Super Randonnées were created by Sophie 12 years ago and Audax Club Parisien thanked Sophie for her great management during the last years.
Randonneur 10000 award rules will be reviewed. Super Randonnées won’t be anymore requested and replaced by a second « Fleche Nationale » (or a « Fleche de France » with a gold or silver medal for those who can ride in France). Super Randonnées completed before 2022 will be accepted for future R10000 requests.
The next session of Paris-Brest-Paris will be held next year from August 19 to 24. The rules will be roughly the same as last sessions. Pre registrations in early 2023 will help riders to enter PBP and to be able to choose easily their favorite starting time. To pre register, riders will have to use the longest BRM ridden from November 2021 and October 2022. The starting point is not yet decided but Rambouillet should be the final decision. I will let you know as soon as possible.

Dear ACP representatives,

First of all, I would like to apologize for my late message to you about the BRM 2022-2023 calendar. I was planing to send you more information about the new BRM homologation website but I’m unable to complete its notice as I’m over loaded during the last weeks. Some of you are also waiting for some answers… I will also answer to all of you within the next days.

As you know, Audax Club Parisien will organize Paris-Brest-Paris in 2023 from Rambouillet, as for the last edition. To enter, riders will have to complete their registration before July 02, 11:59 pm french time. So, they will need to complete qualifying BRM before July 01. We will publish a brochure on January 2023 to present the 20 edition of Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur. I would like to receive a short text (100 words maximum) about your local BRM organization, both in english and local language (including local alphabetic character).

We will aslo celebrate the centenary of BRM400 on July 22. As for BRM200 and BRM300 centenary, we will create dedicated medals and brevet cards. You can order them until December 2022.

About BRM calendar, you can find the new format attached. Columns A to I are mandatory and the other ones are compulsory. Columns J and K were added to cope with the new R10000 rules for which a BRM600 with at least a 8000m elevation is requested. Columns L to Q are used in the BRM calendar online (ACP website) and will help riders to find local events. I would like to receive your calendar before October 15th… of course, as I’m late it could be tricky for you to answer so quickly… but you know that I can add more events during the next months.

I would like also to give you some information about the new features of the BRM homologation website.

You can add more results to an event during 48 hours after the first homologation. So, it’s now possible to get the validation number after each arrival if you want.
You will see events « on hold » during 48 hours with an orange color in the BRM calendar. You can close them at once yourself but it will close automatically 48 hours after the last entry.
If needed, you can ask me to « reopen » an event after 48 hours to allow you to enter missing results.
You can allow an organizer to enter himself the results of an event, including live during the event. Only ACP representatives can allow an organizer to enter results and this action can be done event by event. While allowing an access for homologation, you will create automatically an access to the organizer who will be able to see only his/her events in the BRM homologation tool.

For your information, we have a lot of events waiting for validation. Please delete your events if there is no result.

The calendar form attached to my previous email was not the latest version… you can find the correct one attached.

Column J is for the total cumulated elevation of your event.

Column K is to show the BRM600 which can be used to request a Randonneur 10000 award.

Column O is to define the event which could be validated by the organizer himself/herself. A limited access to the BRM online tool will be granted to those organizers.

LRM PRESIDENT’S LETTER

I hope that this letter finds you all well in these times of continued uncertainty. It has been nice to see so many LRM events held as usual in 2022, but others have still been affected by pandemic and war. I am looking forward to 2023 and to seeing many of you in Rambouillet in August.

2023 Calendar Submissions Requested

It’s time for us to assemble the calendar of LRM events for 2023 (and, in some cases, for November and December 2022). Please send the following information about upcoming LRM events (1200km or longer) in your country to me prior to October 20, 2022 (a sample form is attached):
⁃ Name of the event
⁃ Distance of the event
⁃ Date of the event
⁃ The start city or town
⁃ The time limit for the event (including any request for additional time for events with significant vertical ascent)
⁃ If available, the website address for information about the event (or the sponsoring club’s website)
⁃ The name and email address for the ride organizer or other responsible person

Although things are returning to normal, in 2023 LRM will continue to be liberal about allowing changes, postponements, cancellations, or even new events.

Homologation of Events and Fees

I very much appreciated the prompt submission of results to LRM for the 2022 events that have been held so far this year. For 2022, please continue to send results to me (mark@muthomas.net) in spreadsheet format with information on the event and the information on each in-time finisher - Surname, First Name, Finishing Time, Nationality, and Gender (if provided), and Medal Request. A sample results submission file is attached for your use. LRM Vice-President Tal Katzir will continue to supply requested medals. Please be sure to include the shipping address for the medals in your results submission.

There will be no changes to LRM fees for 2023. The homologation fees are 2€ per finisher. Medals will be 6€ each. As in the past, these fees will be invoice along with your BRM fees from the ACP. We will continue to monitor the finances of LRM to understand if further changes might be made in the future.

Challenge Lepertel

The first riders have completed the Challenge Lepertel in 2022. We have a handsome medal for riders who have met this challenge. The standard for the award is a 1200km event in four consecutive years, with events starting in at least two different countries. Due to pandemic and for this 2019-2022 award cycle only, riders can substitute an event from a different year in the cycle for their 2020 event, their 2021 event or both. (Fore example, if a rider cannot provide events for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 as expected, four events from say 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2022 would work.)

LRM will handle the Challenge Lepertel award in a manner similar to that used by the ACP for the R5000 and R10000 awards. LRM will accept applications once a year. Because the award can use events any time in the calendar year, LRM will accept the applications in January. (Applications for 2019-2022 will be accepted in January 2023). Applications will be accepted from LRM country representatives, not directly from riders. Awards will be shipped to the LRM country representatives for distribution to the riders. Payment for the medals (8€ per medal) will be handled through the ACP/LRM annual invoice.

A copy of the application form is attached to this email for you to publish to riders. It will also be posted to the LRM website. Please submit riders’ completed Challenge Lepertel applications to me by January 31, 2023.
